The Paola Wrestling club is an established program that has experienced coaches on staff to help each athlete reach his full potential as a wrestler. Practices are divided between Open and Novice class wrestlers. Open practices are offered two to three times per week for 1.5 to 2 hours in length, beginning near Thanksgiving. Novice practices are offered two times per week for 1 hour.
There are tournaments almost every weekend through the month of March, however parents are encouraged to pick and choose when and how often to wrestle depending upon the interest of the child and the family schedule. It is not uncommon for a beginner wrestler to participate in a couple tournaments their first year.
STRONG TRADITION
The Paola Wrestling Club is consistently one of the top teams from across the state at the USA Wrestling State Tournament held in Topeka each year. Paola has had many USA Wrestling State Champions and placers over the past few years and even has several placers at the National Level.
Our goal with the Paola Wrestling Club is to develop the kids and the club as a feeder program for the Paola High School Wrestling team.
